Crop/cultivar

Soybeans / Ocepar-14

Country / location Brazil / State of Sao-Paolo / University of Jaboticabal
Objectives Increase yield
Haifa product tested Multi-K
Application method Foliar nutrition
Tested treatment 2 foliar sprays @ 1.0% concentration & 400lit./ha,
pH adjusted to 5.5.1st  appl. at full flowering, 2nd appl. 18 days later. Harvest took place after 107 days of growth.
Control treatment results 2,801 kg/ha
Grower’s revenue from yield: 183 US$/MT
Best treatment results 3,340 kg/ha
Grower’s revenue from yield: 183 US$/MT
Characteristics of best treatment Yield increase:  539 kg/ha (19.2% over control)
Ave. weight of the grains was increased by 13-30%
Cost of treatment (application + material) 5.6 US$/ha
Net benefit of best treatment 0.539 x 183 – 5.6 = 93 US$/ha
Benefit/Cost ratio 0.539 x 183 / 5.6 = 17.6
Conclusions Try next year more applications.
Extremely low precipitation did not allow for full benefit from the treatments.
