Greek Kiwifruits boost with Haifa Turbo-K™

Kiwifruits enjoys a reputation of both a unique and tasty fruit as well as a healthy fruit with outstanding healthy nutrition values.
Kiwifruit is a rich source of vitamin C (112% of the Daily Value per 100 grams) and vitamin K, and a good source of dietary fiber and vitamin E.
Worldwide consumption of the Kiwifruit is in continues growth, and an increasing number of growers are planting kiwi vines in their area.

Production of kiwifruit is relatively expensive since a high capital investment is required for vines, trellises, and a permanent sprinkler or drip irrigation system.
It takes 4 years after planting to produce a commercial crop.

Applying precise plant nutrition to the Kiwifruit vines is critical to obtain maximum quality yield.
These facts motivated the Haifa South East Europe agronomy team to check the effectiveness of Haifa Turbo-K™ in Kiwi plantations in Greece.

Four growers took part in the Haifa Greece trial and used Haifa Turbo-K™ during the season.
The Haifa Turbo-K™ was used for basic fertilization and for the fruit setting. Haifa Turbo-K™ is a new grade of complex NPK granule for soil applications.
It generated from Multi-K™ Potassium Nitrate and provide the kiwifruit vines balanced composition of pure nutrients, with virtually no sodium and chloride.
The results were excellent and the harvest in all four trails was above the growers’ expectations.

Kiwi growers use Haifa Turbo-K

One of the growers, Mr. John Ftaras, an experienced Kiwi grower, concluded: “we applied fertilization from the new Haifa Turbo-K.
We used it for initial basic fertilization and second in the stage of fruit setting.
In the stage of fruit development we applied granular potassium nitrate in order the fruit to obtain the ideal size, filling and ripeness desired.
By the end of the season we had very good uniform fruits, with vigorous healthy flesh. Good harvest.”
