On October 9, Haifa Colombia held the Plant Nutrition Seminar at Universidad de La Sabana, bringing together more than 190 farmers from across the country. Participants had the opportunity to learn firsthand about Haifa Group’s sustainability strategies and how these are integrated throughout every stage of our value chain.
The event featured technical presentations by international experts.
- Marco Molenaar, from Haifa North West Europe, discussed key aspects of efficient nutrition, as well as the recirculation and reuse of nutrient solutions.
- Ph.D. David León (Peru), Head of Research and Development at our distributor Molinos & Cía., shared insights on nutrition strategies for blueberry crop establishment and flowering advancement.
- Miguel Jara, representing Haifa Colombia, presented on the assurance and efficiency of the Nutrigation™ system.
In addition to the expert talks, four farmers shared their valuable firsthand experiences with Haifa products in avocado, lemon, and flower crops. They highlighted significant improvements in fruit quality, cost reduction, and higher yields — all achieved through close collaboration with Haifa’s technical team.
During the seminar, participants also learned about Haifa’s upcoming milestone – the ammonia plant “Blumonia™”, currently under construction. The facility will operate on renewable energy, marking another important step in Haifa’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint and promoting sustainable agriculture.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all participants for joining us. The seminar provided a great opportunity for knowledge sharing and open dialogue with growers, reaffirming Haifa’s commitment to developing more efficient, sustainable, and innovative agriculture — always addressing real needs from the field.
A special thanks goes to our growth partner, Molinos & Cía., for enabling the valuable participation of Ph.D. David León, who generously shared his knowledge and expertise during the seminar.
