Q&A: Using controlled release fertilizer under a plastic mulch for agri crops

Q: I am interested in using the controlled release fertilizer under a plastic mulch for agri crops. However, what is available locally is the Multicote™ not the Multicote™ Agri. Is there a significant difference in performance between the 2 products?

A: Multicote™ is a 100% coated fertilizer that Haifa have in a lot of formulas with or without microelements or magnesium and with a different nutrient release longevity (4, 6, 8, and 12 months). Multicote™ Agri products contain, in addition to the Multicote™, also an uncoated readily available nutrients for better establishment and initial growth of the plant. The uncoated nutrients are supplied in accordance with plant needs, for optimal development and best yields. For few crops it is possible to use Multicote™ while for others it will be much better to use Multicote™ Agri. Please consult with Haifa's agronomist to find out what will be the best solution for your crops.
