Haifa Group - Innovation that constantly grows

Haifa Group has been at the forefront of the development and marketing of nourishing solutions for advanced agriculture for over fifty years. A spirit of pioneering and innovation is what drives it to provide groundbreaking solutions that improve plant nourishment and fertilization effectiveness in environmentally friendly ways.

What sort of innovation can occur in crop nourishment? Haifa Group has proven that considerable innovation can in fact take place, and all of it is aimed in one direction: assisting the world's food security while creating a minimal environmental effect.

The solutions offered by Haifa Group assist farmers in over 100 countries to increase agricultural productivity by constant improvent of nourishment effectiveness. Accordingly, alongside its advanced nourishment products, Haifa's developments also consist of knowledge and technologies that are intended to help farmers plan and implement plant nourishment in an optimal, accurate way.

Innovation in nourishment products

The nourishment basics essential to the plant can be provided in different ways that are more or less effective. The more effective ways (specialty fertilizers) are Haifa Group's expertise: products that provide the plant with pure, accurate nourishment that it can effectively absorb.

Controlled release fertilizer is a particularly effective way to provide nourishment suitable for the developing plant's needs. Thanks to the Multicote™ technology developed by Haifa, it is possible to control the nourishing substances' release times according to the plant's sensitivity. This application method permits significant reduction of the nourishment dose, by up to 50%. This means less substances used by the farmer, reduced environmental losses and reduced pollution. Additionally, this year Haifa has introduced a special device for the application of release controlled fertilizers in orchards: the Multicote™ Applicator that makes the benefits of effective, accurate fertilization widely accessible.

Whereas mineral fertilizers provide the plant with the nourishment essentials it requires for its development, some substances can influence and improve the functioning of the plant's systems and its growing environment. They are called biostimulants.  An accurate, high quality combination of fertilization and biostimulants enables the plant to fulfill its growing potential and produce a higher and better crop. As they improve the plant's resistance and its ability to develop in tough conditions as well, the importance of biostimulants and the demand to use them are expected to increase with climate change and with the increase in extreme cases that many farmers must cope with even today.

HaifaStim™, the biostimulant series by the Haifa Group, consists of sophisticated products for varying environmental conditions that are used to supplement basic mineral nourishment. Additionally, from this year the Haifa Group also offers a line that combines mineral fertilizer and biostimulants in one product: Haifa Poly-Feed Stim. Due to their natural source and holistic operation method, biostimulants are also a solution for organic agriculture.

Innovation in technological applications

To assist farmers to effectively nourish their crops, Haifa Group has developed the Nutrinet™ software, an innovative online system that assists the farmer in creating fertilization programs accurately suited to the crop's nourishment needs, its growing conditions and the irrigation systems being used. This software supports decision making and simplifies the calculation of fertilizer amounts and doses. The calculation process is performed by crop stage, and provides the farmer with a comprehensive work plan for the entire season. Nutrinet™ utilizes a global database that contains information about crop nourishment, irrigation, soils and climates and is suitable for most crop types.

An essential part of successful, accurate plant nourishment lies in the question of when to nourish it. Haifa Group offers services that can answer this need as well. With the CropTune (AGRIOT) application that uses AI, the farmer can identify nourishment deficiencies with his smartphone camera and receive fertilization recommendations according to the specific condition in the field. Additionally, with the CropTune (AGRIOT) technology a farmer can determine fertilization times and quantities based on actual need, thus avoiding excessive, wasteful nourishment and at the same time preventing deficiencies that may harm the crop.

Innovation in advanced farming environments

Haifa Group develops solutions and provides answers for new crops and advanced farming environments.

Detached substrates and hydroponics are the most advanced farming environments and make it possible to effectively produce agricultural crops, fully controlling their growing conditions. Such systems, detached from the natural soil and water environment, enable the farmer to reduce the agricultural production's ecological effects. Growing crops on detached substrates requires accurate provision of nourishment and necessitates the use of extremely clean fertilizers. The Haifa Group provides dedicated solutions for detached substrates that offer optimal plant nourishment and maintain the system's cleanliness and optimum functioning.

Even new or developing crops can be addressed. For example - medical cannabis that has been gaining growing interest around the world. Haifa has a series of dedicated formulas for cannabis in its different growth stages. Accurate nourishment permits not only optimal development but also improved crop properties.

Innovation is not a new concept for the Haifa Group. The innovative solutions it provides are developed in its research and development centers around the world and offer answers to the environmental, climate related and economic challenges currently faced by farmers around the world.
