In this section you’ll find examples of fertilizer schedules for vineyards in various growth environments. The presented programs are suited to specified cultivation interfaces, growth conditions and target yields.
Note: The hereunder should be regarded as a general guide only. The exact fertilization program should be determined according to the specific crop needs, soil type, water analysis, cultivar, and most important – the grower’s experience.

Nutrigation™ (fertigation)
Nutrigation™ (fertigation) delivers pure plant nutrients through the irrigation system, supplying them precisely to the zone of most intensive root activity. A well-balanced Nutrigation™ program provides plants with their exact needs, as they change along the season.
Note: it is highly recommended to get an analysis of the irrigation water when setting the Nutrigation™ program, as the ions in the water must be considered when balancing nutrient concentrations and availability.

Foliar Nutrition
Foliar application of fertilizers provides fast, readily available nutrition directly to the plant. It serves as an effective supplementary feeding method that complements soil fertilization and allows quick correction of nutrient deficiencies. Applying nutrients by foliar sprays at specific stages of crop development boosts yields and improves quality. In vineyards, foliar fertilization is particularly used to enhance dormancy breaking, stimulate vegetative growth, and support fruit sizing. Adding fertilizers to defoliation sprays also helps replenish the vine’s nutrient reserves, preparing it for the next growing season.
Poly-Vineyard
Poly-Vineyard is a specialized formula for foliar applications in vineyards, designed to enhance root development, lignification, bud maturation, sugar accumulation (°Brix), dry matter production, and aroma development.
The formula is composed entirely of pure plant nutrients and includes essential micronutrients in EDTA-chelated form, ensuring high bioavailability and efficient uptake by the plant.
It is advised to apply 2-4 sprays of 0.5-1 kg/hl in 10-15 day intervals during the growth cycle.
- Application during the vegetative phase enhances flowering and improves fruit setting.
- Application during berry growth increases sugar content and improves fruit quality.
- Application in the nursery and on newly planted groves encourages robust development of the root system.
Calcium & Magnesium
To ensure adequate supply of calcium, spray 1% Haifa Cal™ GG in the beginning of the season, after petal drop and during berry sizing. To cure and prevent magnesium deficiency, apply 1% Haifa Mag™ after petal drop and at the early stages of berry sizing. Repeat application every 10-14 days.
magnesium deficiency, apply 1% Haifa Mag™ after petal drop and at the early stages of berry sizing. Repeat application every 10-14 days.
Purpose | Product | Timing & rare |
Dormancy breaking | Dormant buds: apply 4-7 days before oil treatments, conc. of 7.5%.
Growth boosting | Spray soon after dormancy breaking if soil temperature is low and root activity is slow. Spray on the blossom to enhance fruit setting. Normally, use spray concentration of 1%.
Berry sizing | 2-3 sprays at 14-day intervals, up to two months before harvesting. Conc: 1%
| Post-harvest nutrition & defoliation | Spray concentration of 5%, add 0.25% phosphoric acid | |
Poly-Feed 27-0-27 | Spray concentration of 8.5%, add 0.3% phosphoric acid
Calcium supply | In the beginning of the season, after petal drop and during berry sizing. Conc: 1%
Magnesium supply | To prevent and cure deficiencies, spray after petal drop and beginning of berry sizing, every 10-14 days. Can be combined with Poly-Feed Foliar 21-21-21 to total concentration of 1% |
